As of April 5, 2021, a new method of commission charging has been implemented in MetaTrader terminals due to changes in trading conditions. Previously, for Market Execution account types, the commission was charged at the moment of opening a trade. It was immediately visible in the "Trade" tab under the "Commission" column.
Under the new system, commission is no longer charged at trade entry, but rather after the trade is closed. That means the commission will appear in the "Account History" tab, under the "Commission" column, once the position is closed. The commission amount per minimum trade volume is specified in the Instrument Specification and is reflected in the final trade result.
Before:
You opened a trade on EURUSD with a volume of 1.00 lot. For example, a commission of $7 (i.e., $0.07 per 0.01 lot) was immediately charged at the moment of trade opening and displayed as -7 USD. No additional fees were incurred upon closing the position.
Now:
When you open a trade on EURUSD with a volume of 1.00 lot, no commission is charged upfront. Aside from the spread, the initial cost of entering the position is zero. The commission is charged only when the trade is closed, and the fee is deducted from your available balance at that time.
This method helps reduce the initial margin load on your account, especially when opening multiple positions simultaneously.
