Increasing the trade amount can be useful when you want to protect a trade from a forced closure. By allocating free funds to support the trade, you increase its resilience by adjusting the weighted average opening price. Recalculating the opening price also means recalculating the forced closure level, which moves further away to a safer distance.

Important details
The minimum increase amount is equal to the minimum trade amount. You can check the minimum trade amounts for instruments in the Instrument Specifications.
The commission for increasing the trade amount is equal to the commission for opening a new trade for the same instrument, including the spread. Commissions are charged according to the Instrument Specifications.
The increase in trade amount uses the original multiplier. If the corresponding multiplier is unavailable (for example, during major news releases), the increase cannot be executed until the original multiplier becomes available again for the instrument or the multiplier is changed to an allowed value. You can read more about how to change the multiplier in an open trade here.
From the moment the trade amount is increased, the swap fee will be charged based on the new trade volume.
The trade amount will increase according to the following formula:
NewInv – the new trade amount after the increase procedure.
Inv(0) – the initial trade amount.
Inv – the amount of the increase.
The opening price of the trade will change and be equal to the weighted average price of the original opening price and the instrument price at the moment of the increase:
NewPrice – the new opening price of the trade after increasing the trade amount.
Inv(0) – the initial trade amount.
Price(0) – the opening price of the initial trade.
Inv – the amount of the increase.
Price – the instrument price at the moment of increasing the trade amount.
