How to change password in MetaTrader terminal?

You can change the password for the MetaTrader terminal if necessary.

Important! If you change your MetaTrader account password manually, it will not be automatically changed in the "Account details" section of your Personal Account. This means that you will not be able to find your new password in your Personal Account in the future. Please ensure you securely record and save the new password.

Please note that the password must be complex: at least 5 characters, including lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers.

Desktop

  1. Open the MetaTrader terminal and connect to your account by entering your login, password and server.

  2. Select "Tools" -> "Options" from the upper terminal menu.

  3. On the "Server" tab, click the "Change" button next to the password field.

  4. Enter your current password.

  5. Select "Change master password".

  6. Enter a new password in the "New password" field and re-enter it in the "Confirm" field. Click "OK".


Mobile app

  1. Open the MetaTrader terminal on your mobile device.

  2. Connect to your account by entering your login, password and server.

  3. Click on the three bars menu button in the upper left corner.

  4. At the top of the page click on the blue "Manage accounts" button.

  5. Click on the three dots menu button in the upper right corner and tap "Change master password".

  6. Enter your current password.

  7. Enter your new password twice and click "Next".
